Final Project

The radio commercial advertising the resorts of Cebu, Philippines. Pardon the the sub-par sound editing.
The radio keeps going on until the song ends, so the actual project is around 50 seconds long...

Assignment #16: Fun & Interesting Websites

Sketchpad is a great in browser picture creation tool. It is really versatile and easy to use, with a really unnoticeable learning curve. Although art cannot be saved, being browser based, an artist could download it to their computer.
It's also free!!!!!
(Of Course)

Tumblr is a pretty nifty blog website which is oriented around artists and their creations. Think of it as a twitter for artist, it is pretty awesome! You can also create your own blog and follow people or other blogs.
It's free as well!!!!!
(Obviously)

DeviantART is a pretty awesome place which has a lot, and I mean A LOT, of drawing, pictures, paintings, and so much more. Since all of this content is user created it is all original and bursting with creativity! Although, it is only used as a site for publishing content...not creating it.

Premium Membership costs extra!
(Other than that it is free!)

Video

Go animate is a website used to make quick animations with ease. It is rather limited in its use, because if you want premium content you would need to pay. But other than that it is a pretty cool website which can be used by both advanced and beginning animators. Although you can upload it to the website and elsewhere

Stated before!
(Premium Costs extra!)

With this website you are able to reduce the file size a picture substantially, while still retaining its quality. This is very useful for pictures that take p a lot of space, or photos from photoshop, which have a file size to large to upload to the internet, i.e. blogger. Or maybe you had a long day of taking pictures and uses up a lot of space so you need to cut down.

This is another website where you can upload and store various works of art, such as pictures or music. Artists can even use it as a website to sell there own original products.

Survey monkey is a great website for creating and designing surveys to gather information. Once a survey is created you can send it to others over facebook, twitter, etc. And once enough data is collected it will organize into graphs and charts...

Assignment #9: Word Cloud!

Tagul- Pie Cloud!

I enjoyed this site because of how easy it was to use. Though it did seem to have some problems with getting the system to work, but when it did it was great! Though, I did feel as though the features were kind of rigid, but it is better to have the option to use it then not to!

Tagxedo- Google Cloud!

Tagxedo I really enjoyed because of how versatile it was! You can customize the word count, choose specific websites to draw from, and even select images to model from. The entire website works great! And I can't wait to use it again.

Assignment #6: Painting A Scene With Sound

This has a story behind it! It tells the tale of a lonely Astronaut, who's looking for a new world. He even comes to dreaming of this seemingly make-believe place. But his vessel's electronics are soon thrashed, and he must make a hasty landing on an unmarked planet...what will he find?

Assignment #4: Famous Copyright Cases

Arnold Schwarznegger and Zero One Design - The Japanese Commercials

Zero One Design is a Canadian Web Design company, they were responsible for creating the website known as The Gaijin a Go Go Cafe. This website was used to show Japanese commercials that featured famous american celebrities, Arnold Schwarznegger being one of them. The problem with this website was that it brought commercials that were originally meant only for the Japanese market onto the internet. This had upset the celebrities who were featured on the websites because of how they were portrayed in the Japanese commercials. Now keep in mind that they participated in these commercials consciously, but they were told these advertisements wouldn't leave the Japanese market. The reason for this being was the nature of certain commercials. Japanese commercials are pretty wacky...

Now you might ask yourself, why would it matter if Americans saw these Japanese commercials? Well for a celebrity your image is everything; and Arnold believed that these commercials would tarnish his image in the American market. So what happened is that multiple people, not just Schwarznegger, had accused the The Gaijin a Go Go Cafe of copy right infringement. And so because of this the website was taken down. Although it seems a little redundant because the same videos that were featured on Gaijin can now be found on Youtube. One step forward, two steps back, and one step forward again it seems.

Assignment #3: Image Editing Assignment

Image #1: city_1.jpeg

I slightly changed the color saturation, and I used heavy Exposure correction. I used Curves, Ortonish, very subtle Neon, and Polaroid. In this picture I tried to use the effects to make a normally bright picture look dark and bleak. I tried to focus the what little light there is around the sun, darkening its surroundings to put more emphasis. And I made it blue because it's normally a depressing color, it also makes the image feel cold which goes hand in hand with darkness. I liked this website mostly for the color correction technology, but not so much for the effects they had. I feel as though other websites have more to offer.

Image #2: rodeoboys.jpeg

The effects I used on this picture were Cartoonizer, Rainbow (Difference), and Light Contrast. I will have to admit that I was mostly just messing around with this image. Though i do like the way it turned out, the rainbow effect is really neat! I really liked the effects this website had, there was a lot I had at my disposal. I certainly will use this website again when I need random effects.

Which one looks more real?
Image #3: winterscene.jpeg

The effects I used on this image were Burn, Highlight, Sharpen. I am proud of how this image turned out. I tried to make the picture look more like it was at sunset, or sunrise, so I put more emphasis in the background lighting and the sky light. I also, in contrast, made the foreground darker; but only slightly. Then I just started to mess around with the editing software; I "melted" the snow on the branches and other areas using Burn. I really love Photoshop and I thought that this software was really good for realistic editing. Though I am disappointed for the lack of variety in the editing options.

Assignment #2: Fun Image Websites

Example #1

This first image I made in Hairmixer. I thought it was an interesting site because of how you could swap the faces of people and celebrities. Though they didn't really have a great amount of options, in my opinion, I did think it was cool how you could take a picture from off the internet, or upload your own.

Example #2

This image was made from FunPhotoBox. I thought it was a great website mostly because of the great amount of effects you can use. Here we have the Joker being serious so I thought it would be funny to have him holding a card that reflected otherwise, to contrast his disposition (The card is the place where the image goes, and I chose a clown.)

Example #3

This image was created from Photofunia. I liked this website because of the great face recognition software and the seemless blending of face and body. Though I didn't really like any of their selections in particular, but I was able to find a few. In this picture you can see me as a Jedi, though I am creepily hunched over.

Assignment #1: Three of My Favorite Websites

http://www.youtube.com/

This is a site you are probably already aware of, but in case you don't it is a website where you can post videos of any and all things. Most of my time on the computer is probably spent watching Youtube videos and listening to music from random artists. There are always new things to see on youtube, and it's always fun to find a hilarious video to show to my friends.

http://www.netflix.com/

This is a website where you must pay a monthly subscription fee to be able to watch a plethora of movies and television shows. I go to this site often when I am bored, or when I haven't seen a movie or series I wanted to watch before. I really like it because there are so many movies and series in its library that you could spend days watching movies and television shows.

http://www.steampowered.com/

While technically not a website, it is still a favorite of mine. The website is actually just a place where you download a program which let's you purchase many different types of video games. The program/website itself is more of a gaming platform, but I enjoy video games to a great extent! So I pretty much just use this website for gaming.
